Professor Asli Ascioglu earned her doctorate in finance from the University of Memphis in 2000 and joined º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓÆµ that same year as an assistant professor of finance.
In 2002, she played a pivotal role in designing Bryant’s Financial Markets Center (FMC), where she also served as its first coordinator. In this role, she developed curriculum around the center’s data resources, helping to integrate hands-on learning into the finance program. Throughout her tenure at Bryant, Professor Ascioglu has contributed significantly to university community through academic leadership, committee service, and campus-wide initiatives. She has served on or chaired numerous committees, including the Rank and Appointment Committee, the Women’s Center Advisory Committee, the Honor’s Council, and the Provost Search Committee. She has been a strong advocate for faculty diversity and played an instrumental role in hiring more female finance faculty.
Since 2015, Professor Ascioglu has served as the coordinator of the C.V. Starr Financial Markets Center, Bryant’s educational trading room. She also co-taught in the Archway Investment Fund (AIF) Program, where students manage a $2.4 million portfolio.
From 2019 to 2023, she served as Chair of the Finance Department, providing academic leadership and supporting strategic initiatives within the College of Business.
Professor Ascioglu’s scholarly work spans market microstructure, investment strategies, and the integration of environmental, social, and governance (ESG) factors in finance. She has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals such as the Journal of Banking and Finance, Review of Financial Economics, and the Journal of Financial Education, among others. Her recent research focuses on sustainable investing and ESG factor exposures. In addition to academic publications, she regularly presents her work at national and international finance conferences. Professor Ascioglu also serves as a reviewer for finance journals and has received multiple research grants and awards, including the Nasdaq Educational Foundation Fellowship and the Best Paper Award from the Southwestern Finance Association.
In 2024, Professor Ascioglu received the Bryant Alumni Association’s Distinguished Faculty Award. She is currently teaching Investments and developing a new course in Sustainable Finance and Impact Investing, reflecting her commitment to sustainability and to preparing students for the evolving priorities of the financial industry.
